Going to the House Floor!

We have made it to the House Floor!

This is a huge, and extremely exciting, day for our efforts!  We just got placed by the Committee on Calendars to go to the House floor this Friday- May 9.  If our bill passes in the House then it moves to the Texas Senate, and hopefully, to the Governor’s desk!

Things move quickly when there is such a short calendar, as is the case with many states.  The Texas legislative session ends on June 2, so there is not much time left.  But, for now, let’s focus on the House vote.  If you have not already done so, please reach out to your House Representative’s office today and ask them to support HB 2278 when it goes to the floor, and to vote ‘Yea’.

Don’t stop there– reach out to your state Senator’s office and ask them to get behind this bill, as well.  We need as many Senators on board as possible to try to get this pushed through before June 2.

Update:  Due to the number of bills and time taken on some bills, our bill was postponed to Saturday, and then to Monday.  We will keep you updated on progress.
